Program Chronology & Directions

2022
The BMTKM program was launched by the Ministry of Economy. University of Malaya (UAC) was appointed as a strategic partner for the Central Zone, 4 localities of the Federal Territory of KL.

March 2023
New project team appointed — Prof. Datin Sri Dr. Suhaiza Hanim Dato Zailani as Project Leader. 360° mapping data overhaul and monitoring underway.

May 2023
The Final Report of the BMT Phase 1 Project was submitted to the Federal Territories Department. The Certificate of Completion Ceremony for the participants was held.

Apr 2025
KOPUTRAZ (Koperasi Pembangunan Usahawan Tekad Rakyat Zahir) was established — a community cooperative of IBMT participants.

June 2025
Participation in the International Social Wellbeing Conference 2025, Shangri-La Hotel KL (17–18 June 2025).

August 2025
ASEAN Sustainable Urbanization Forum — ASEAN Governors & Mayors Forum at KLCC (12–13 August 2025).

May 2026
IBMT Status & Strategic Direction Meeting No. 1/2026 with the Federal Territories Department.

PATCE@UAC (Poverty Assessment Tool for Community Empowerment) was developed specifically for this program, combining income analysis with subjective dimensions to holistically measure the progress of participants.
