The Public Lecture Series 1/2026, held on 26 January 2026, featured an insightful session titled “Differentiated Pedagogical Approaches in Nurturing Love for the Qur’an Among B40 Children.” The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Zaharah Hussin and moderated by Dr. Che Aleha Ladin from the Department of Educational Foundations and Humanities, Faculty of Education.
The programme underscored ongoing efforts to cultivate a deeper love for the Qur’an among children from B40 communities. UAC extends its appreciation to all participants and looks forward to continued engagement in future initiatives.



The Telaah@UM Series 1/2026, held on 28 January 2026, marked a meaningful collaboration between the University of Malaya Library and the Ungku Aziz Centre for Development Studies (UAC) in conjunction with the birth anniversary of the late Professor Diraja Ungku Abdul Aziz, a highly respected national intellectual figure.
The workshop explored strategies for fostering strong partnerships between universities and industriesThis session featured scholarly reflections on two works: "Riwayat Ungku Aziz and The Renaissance Man" was presented by Prof. Dr. Zamri Radzi, while Dato' Kepten (B) Prof. Emeritus Dr. Hashim Yaacob served as moderator. The event was further distinguished by the presence of Tan Sri Dr. Zeti Akhtar Aziz, reinforcing the programme’s role in promoting intellectual discourse and fostering a culture of reading within the Universiti Malaya community.



The Yasin and Tahlil Memorial Gathering held on 28 January 2026 served not only as a prayerful remembrance of the late Professor Diraja Ungku Abdul Aziz, but also as a profound institutional tribute to a national scholar whose extraordinary contributions shaped Malaysia’s policies, intellectual traditions, and development direction. The ceremony reflected the deep respect and enduring legacy he leaves within the academic and national landscape.



On 29 January 2026, the Ungku Aziz Centre for Development Studies (UAC), in collaboration with the University of Malaya Centre for Civilisational Dialogue and the APPGM-SDG, organised the Interfaith Dialogue for Grassroots and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The programme served as a meaningful platform to amplify the role of interfaith dialogue in supporting community-centred sustainable development.
