On November 26, 2023, Ungku Aziz Centre For Development Studies (UAC) organized a visit to the Institute for Poverty Research and Management (InsPeK) at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (Bachok).
The purpose of this visit was to acquire knowledge and draw inspiration from the success of InsPeK in assisting resilient impoverished communities to generate their own income, consequently breaking free from persistent poverty in Kelantan, specifically.
We were warmly welcomed by the Director of InsPeK, Prof. Dr. Wan Ahmad Amir Zal, who also serves as a Visiting Professor at the Ungku Aziz Centre For Development Studies (UAC). The visit commenced with introductory remarks from Prof. Dr. Wan Amir and UAC Director, Datin Sri Prof. Dr. Suhaiza Hanim, along with a brief overview of InsPeK. Additionally, we were taken to several successful project locations under InsPeK, including a chicken farm (Okay You) and the Food-i InsPeK Food Incubator.
